BSES Expeditions: Summer and Polar Gap Year Expeditions

The British Schools Exploring Society (BSES) Expeditions are available in three areas; Arctic, Jungle and Mountain. All programs include some research and fieldwork component. All training is provided so there is no need to have previous mountaineering or fieldwork experience. BSES Expeditions looks for young people with enthusiasm, determination, common sense, the ability to work as a member of a team, basic physical fitness and a good sense of humour. BSES Expeditions also offers a Leadership Training course that prepares participants for work as tour leaders, as well as awarding NVQ Level 3 in Leadership and Management and Adventure First Aid qualifications.

The British Schools Exploring Society (BSES Expeditions) aims to advance the education of young people by providing inspirational and challenging scientific expeditions to remote locations. They host a variety of volunteer and research positions as well as work study positions.
