Awards have been established by the Trustees of the John Hamel MacGregor Trust to support medical students who wish to pursue a BMedSci or postgraduate research degrees in the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences at The University of Auckland.

Faculty scholarships recognise high-achieving students at UOW. Scholarship recipients are expected to fulfil an ambassadorial role for the faculty by actively participating in Faculty-hosted events and become committee members of the Faculty's Student and Staff Association.

These scholarships are advertised by the University and ordinarily cover both pay and other (approved) expenses incurred in connection with a student's PhD studies (supervision, courses, travelling, assessment etc.).

To encourage applications from students in financial hardship who would benefit from the MB BS or BDS programme, the trustees of St Bartholomew's Hospital Medical College Trust are pleased to offer these new Scholarships to two new medical students and one new dental student each year.
