Give A Heart To Africa: Volunteer in Tanzania
Give a Heart To Africa (GHTA) is non-profit organization that provides FREE education to disadvantaged women. Our mission is to empower women with the skills to improve their situations and pull themselves out of poverty via education and entrepreneurship.
We operate a small business vocational school and offer a free 12-month course in English, Business and Vocational Skills. Upon completion, GHTA financially assists top students to start their own business in one of our two Women's Co-operatives, retail spaces we operate in town, and supports selected students with further education.
We also offer the unique cultural exchange for volunteers of weekly home visits with our students and run a small after-school children's program. We are one of the ONLY non-profit organizations that is 100% volunteer run, enabling 100% of all donations to go directly to our running our programs. We believe so strongly in the cause that the only paid staff we have is our Tanzanian school staff, all of whom are GHTA graduates.
