American Field Service (AFS) Canada: Adults Go Abroad

Adults Go Abroad combines volunteer placements in a work environment with host family or work site accommodations, including participation in community activities allowing volunteers to live the cultural and socio-economic realities of their host country. Projects vary and include community development, education, social programmes, special skill development and wildlife restoration. All specifics - including assignments, orientations, logistics and activities - vary depending on the programme cycle. Projects vary by hosting country and participants' interests, and last between 5-6 months. A summer intensive programme of 3-7 weeks is also available.
