Schools Without Borders (SWB): Volunteer and Leadership Placements

Schools Without Borders (SWB) runs various programs around the world, which make learning more accessible and engaging for today's youth. All of their programs use a hands-on/project-based methodology that encourages youth to take responsibility for their actions and equips them with essential life-skills. 1. Leadership Seminars (ages 15-18) - 3 week adventure-based programs in Brazil and Kenya 2. Community Projects (ages 17-22) - 5 to 6 week projects in Rio and Nairobi's slums 3. Volunteer Placements (ages 21+) - 3 to 12 month international placements 4. Re-Mix Project - skills development using urban culture in downtown Toronto. 5. Arts-based Community Initiatives - Creative development strategies (i.e. film, music, graffiti etc.)

Schools Without Borders is a youth-run, Canadian charity that makes education and learning more accessible for young people. They support youth who are creating their own platforms for change and building their communities.
