The Simon Community: Full and Part Time Volunteering

Much of the work in The Simon Community is carried out by volunteers, who co-ordinate and run Simon's residential and outreach work. Full-time volunteers live in the houses with residents, sharing their mutual strengths and weaknesses and creating a unique atmosphere of love and acceptance. This is not easy to sustain, but for many of the residents it may be the first time in their lives they have been respected and have somewhere they can belong. Simon encourages change without aiming to 'rehabilitate'. Full time volunteers are required to stay in the house for at least nine months. Part time volunteers should commit to at least one day every two weeks.
