Category
The mission of the IDS unit of Commonwealth Games Canada is to work in partnership to build leadership skills in, and enhance the capacity of, individuals, communities and nations, using the convening and transformative power of sport. IDS currently works in the Southern African and Caribbean regions, but the scope of the IDS mission extends to Canadian professionals, ages 19-30, who are passionate about sport, physical activity and International Development! Since 2001, more than 60 Canadians have undertaken 8-month CSLC international placements with National Olympic and Paralympic Committees, National Sport Councils, Government Ministries, National Sports Organizations, Non-Governmental Organizations, community-based organizations and educational institutions in Africa and the Caribbean.
