Andaman Discoveries

A community-based tourism enterprise that arranges volunteer placements. You can teach at the Burmese Learning Centre, work with disabled children, or help at an orphanage.

Hands Across the Water

This organization, which works with Tsunami orphans and their communities, welcomes volunteers available for at least two months. In January 2010, a group of 32 cyclists will ride 800 km from Bangkok to Khao Lak to raise funds. Email them if you’d like to participate in future rides.

Tourism Concern

This story quotes from their 2005 report entitled, "Post-Tsunami Reconstruction and Tourism: a Second Disaster?" Volunteers are needed for campaigns, fundraising and research on tourism and human rights.
